Charging Credit Cards For Shipping, VAT, and Add-Ons

Hello Wizards!

Not a whole lot to report this week, other than to say that we are very close to printing. Language localization files should be with us soon, and then we will be ready to roll. We have learned that once we hit the go button it will take about 45 days to get the games manufactured and ready to freight to your regions. We believe that we'll begin printing within the next couple of weeks. If we start printing mid-April, the games will be ready at the beginning-to-the-middle of June. We are months ahead of schedule. Of course, as you all know, anything can happen between now and then, especially during the freight and fulfilment process. So, the buffer time is good to have.

Charging Credit Cards

During the Kickstarter campaign, you were only charged for the game itself (and if you added anything to your pledge at that point). This Wednesday, April 6th at 8pm EST, we will begin charging credit cards for any extra add-ons, for applicable VAT, and for shipping.

Please note that many banks will not allow BackerKit charges (through STRIPE) unless you warn them ahead of time. We hope you take this opportunity to tell your bank and/or your credit card that a charge from us is coming. If your full pledge (including BackerKit charges) is not paid before freight, it might result in your game shipping later than everyone else's, or higher shipping charges, or even being left out altogether. We are so excited to get Power Plants to you. Let's get prepared.

Next Steps

We're now in the long wait period until the games are complete. We'll continue to update you every month. But we won't have much to say until the games are ready to go ship. Until then, let us know what you are most excited about for the upcoming Power Plants game, in the comments on the main page.

Hello Wizards!

As promised, I am back from GAMA (the game industry convention) with some amazing photos for you to see. Let's get right into it!

This Game is STUNNING!

All I can say is that this game not only plays beautifully, it is just sunning on the table. Check out these incredible components.

While we are happy overall about the components, the colours need some adjusting. So that's what we'll be working on over the next few days.

GAMA Game Expo

We spent some time showing off Power Plants this past week at GAMA. The general feeling about it is that it is "AMAZING"!! We can't wait to get it to you!

BackerKit remains open until the end of this week. If you would like to add anything on, please go to your BackerKit profile and make that change now. The FINAL deadline for any changes to your BackerKit is the end of this week (Friday, March 25th at 8pm EST).

Samples Coming and What We're Up To

Hello Wizards,

Today I send you our monthly update with a wee bit of new information for you. I was hoping to have the sample already by this update, but it looks like I will not have it for another week or so. I am headed to a Hobby Game Industry convention next week, where I will get my hands on it. Once I get back from said convention, I'll have some awesome photos for you to see.

Play Mat Final Design

Wizards, we've taken your feedback and we've come up with something we think you'll love. Here is the final design of our play mat...

We just couldn't resist putting these beautiful characters on display for you to see. The play area is big enough so that you will likely not go over these stunning characters. We really love how it turned out!

We wanted to complete and share this with you before we charge cards for shipping and add-ons, so that you can make your final decision about it. I have opened up the BackerKit campaign for this purpose. If you would like to add it on, please go to your BackerKit profile and make that change now. If you have decided that you don't want it anymore, please go ahead and take it out. If you added-on the play mat in Kickstarter, you won't be able to take it out of your BackerKit yourself. You'll have to DM us to take it out for you.

The deadline for any changes to your BackerKit is one week today (Friday, March 18th at 8pm EST).

While We're Waiting

Hello amazing Wizards!

Today's update for Power Plants is brief! We are almost done with the print files. In fact, they will be submitted to our manufacturer by the end of the week. The next step will be to receive the sample. Other than the insert (it takes up to 45 days to complete the mould), we should have the sample for the game before you know it. Once we do, we have the opportunity to tweak anything that needs to change, and then we'll go straight to print.

Over the Next Month

Once our files are submitted to the manufacturer, it gives our localization partners a chance to do their translations. Once we get their files, and we have okayed our sample, we will begin printing.

Our Schedule Going Forward

We imagine that with the samples approved, translation complete, and samples received for the insert, we'll be printing late March. Typically it takes about 60 days for production, and another 45-60 days for freight to travel around the world. While this will put us way ahead of schedule, it is good to have that extra padding of time. We have seen incredible delays with freight all over the world, but we are certain that we will make our November date.

BackerKit Orders Locking and Where We Are

Hello Wizards!

If you celebrate, Happy New Year! And what a year this is going to be. More on that in the coming months. Today we discuss scheduling and where we are in the KS process right now.

BackerKit Closing

Today is your last chance to get your order in on BackerKit. Power Plants orders will close tomorrow (Thursday, January 6th at 8pm EST). You will be able to change your address for many months to come. So please don't worry, if you know you have a move on the horizon. As of right now, we're saying that the games will ship in November. But who knows with how the world is working right now. We could be very early, or we could see delays. We are hoping by November that the world shipping crisis will have calmed down.

What To Do If You Lost Your BackerKit Survey

Amazingly, 86% of you have completed your surveys. However, it was a busy time of year when we sent your surveys out to you. We understand that the survey could have been put on the back burner for the time being. We also understand that it is possible that you never received your survey. Either way, you can do a search for it. To do that you can access the BackerKit surveys recovery, here.

Charging Cards For Shipping, VAT, and Add-Ons

On April 5th we'll be charging your credit cards for shipping, VAT, and Add-Ons. For the operation to run smoothly, we ask that you let your bank know that we are going to be making this charge. Since it is a while from now, we'll make sure to update you before we charge your cards.

Where We Are In The Process

We are moving along swimmingly at this point. We are working on final art and graphic design at the moment. Game play has been solid for quite some time already, so no further development is needed. Once the rules are complete (should be in the next week or two), we'll send them to our localization partners for translation. We believe that we'll have a sample here by the end of February. Of course we always have to factor in the Lunar New Year, which takes place at the end of January until mid-to-late February. Once we get our sample we are going to begin production right away.
